January 2014 Favorites

January 2014 FavoritesChristmas brought with it lots of cheer and some pretty awesome makeup products that pranced happily off of my wish lists and right into my shopping carts. So surprisingly (since my favorites posts are pretty sporadic) I was super excited to tell you all about my favorites this month!

I got a lot of things that I had been lusting for and after trying some of them out I’ve found some of my HG’s and products that are just thee bomb.com. I was also sent some pretty cool stuff to try out too so January was a pretty special month. So definitely keep scrolling to find out what’s got this green beauty bloggers heart gushing.

1.    Zuzu Luxe’s Brow Pencil in Mink
I got this during an impromptu stop at my local Earth Fare which has now become my rendition of a drugstore. I go here for last minute beauty buys or when I am in dire need of something and online shopping just won’t cut it. I had run out of the eyebrow pencil I was using previously and got this one on a whim and I have been loving it. Initially I thought this brown color was not dark enough but when blended into my brows it becomes the perfect dark brown tone. It also comes with a spoolie on the end of it which is awesome since I always use a spoolie to groom and blend out my brows so this is A+.

2.    Christopher Drummond’s Concealer in Dark and Deep
This month I found the best natural concealer hands down and I just can’t stop talking about it! I get compliments all the time on how flawless my makeup is (even though I don’t use foundation on a regular basis) and it’s all because of this baby right here. I use the shade Dark to highlight on days when I want that Kim Kardashian brightened under eye look and the shade Deep for days when I don my no makeup-makeup look and I have been loving them both.

3.    Kjaer Weis’ Cream Blush in Blossoming
I absolutely love this cream blush. It has literally changed the way I feel about cream blushes because I had an issue with staying power with the first natural cream blush that I tried, which was RMS Beauty’s Lip2Cheek. But when you layer this on and really press it into the skin it literally lasts all day. I also really adore it’s finish and how much it gives me a natural healthy looking glow. #winning

4.    Red Apple Lipsticks Lipstick in Fierce*
This lipstick is really just… fierce. I know it is so lame to use that word to describe it since it’s actually called fierce but it just is. This lipstick is just confidence bottled up in a lipstick tube and it’s just the life of the party. If you are bold enough to wear this you are just that girl. You know, that girl whose just bold and full of life. And yes a mere lipstick is able to invoke such feelings.

5. Jane Iredale’s Glamour Eye and Lip Palette*
Pretty much every eye shadow look that I have done this month involved this palette someway and somehow. I especially get a lot of use from the neutrals in this palette and also from the golden shades because I have been loving a golden eye with a berry lip. This palette is an awesome addition to my collection especially for traveling!

6. Schmidt’s Cream Deodorant in Lavender and Sage*
I have a confession to make, I’ve been using deodorant that could possibly give me breast cancer up until recently. I know, I know. What the hell right? Even with all the talks of how fabulous Soapwalla is I still had a teeny bit of doubt in me that kept telling me that a natural deodorant couldn’t possibly keep the stink away like my always trusty Secret deodorant stick.  But after trying out this deodorant I am a believer now folks! I’m going to be on my second jar of this stuff and it literally lasts long enough to keep me stink-free on my 12 hour work shifts without reapplication. Shocker, I know, but this stuff is amazing. Plus it smells really good and doesn’t cause the usual irritation that some get from deodorants with baking soda in them.

7. Kahina Giving Beauty’s Toner Mist*
I have been loving this, this month not only for hydrating my skin during these harsh winter months but also as a setting spray to set my makeup. I’ve never liked a powdery finish so this toning mist is excellent at giving my skin a really nice dewy finish which is my favorite. I’ve used this to death this month so it’s definitely time for another, so I will definitely be buying another one since I missed it already!
