The 12 Questions of 2012:
1. Which makeup brand stood out to you most in 2012? Drugstore and High End
The makeup brands that stood out to me drugstore wise would probably be Burt’s Bees because I really like some of their lip products. As for high end I wouldn’t really consider these two brands “high end” per say with all the other luxury natural beauty brands out there (think Spirit Beauty Lounge stuff) but I’d say Zuzu Luxe and I’m really getting into some of the Benecos stuff. More posts to come on these two brands soon!
2. Best new discovery of 2012?
My bestest new discovery of 2012 hands down was my Zuzu Luxe liquid eyeliner in Raven (link to review here). I love love this stuff! The felt tip on it is magnificent, coming from someone who couldn’t draw a straight line to save her life. It’s so sturdy and easy to use and very beginner friendly. I wear this stuff on my eyes everyday I mean total cat eye overdose. It’s also very long wearing.
3. Best re-discovery — A product that you fall in love with over and over again?
Hmmm… Since I’m somewhat of a beginner in this green beauty game I don’t have a makeup re-discovery but for skincare and multipurpose use I’d have to say coconut oil and Shea butter. I ran out of this stuff once and took forever and a day to buy some more and once I did end up buying some more I thought to myself how could I ever had gone without this stuff?? Seriously.
4. Best seasonal product 2012? Winter / Spring / Summer / Fall
I really like Zuzu Luxe’s lipgloss in Mania (review here) since it screams dark and vampy and that’s so on trend this winter. I thought I’d never be into switching to seasonal products or “trends” but the dark lip is really gorgeous and it seems so appropriate for the winter so I’m down for that. As well as darker nail polish shades in the winter!
5. Best and worst Limited Edition Collections in 2012? Drugstore and High End
I haven’t really tried any limited edition collections but I’m hoping in 2013 I get to try some stuff out because the whole limited edition craze is so alluring to me just cause you feel like a finalist in some contest if you get your hands on something that some didn’t. Rushing to pick it up and the suspense on whether you can actually get it can be fun, but that’s just me.
6. Most regretted purchase of 2012?
I have a handful of things I regret buying first, Burt’s Bees Body Wash in Milk and Shea Butter. I’m not sure what I thought this was gonna smell like but it smells just not great and it’s not the type of scent I can get used to so just no. Second, Pacifica’s Shimmer and Glow beautiful body kit because I thought this was a clean brand when I was first starting out but it’s not. Also I just bought before the new year came two eyeshadows, one from Dr. Hauschka that uses talc powder and one from Jane Iredale that uses dimethicone.
7. Youtube and beauty highlights 2012?
I loved all things makeup application when it came to YouTube videos. Since I’m a newbie I overdosed and bookmarked tons of makeup tutorials for some tips and tricks that I want to try.
8. What is your favorite / best video on your own channel?
I don’t have a channel yet but I’m thinking about maybe doing some videos that can be awkward in post form. Like haul videos, monthly favorites, and stuff like that.
9. Best recommendation of 2012 from someone else?
Probably the whole Acure Organics line and Honeybee gardens lip products. I heard about these products on various green beauty blogs and they’re pretty great.
10. Best makeup tool 2012?
I really like my Real Techniques stippling brush for foundation and even my powder products and also my beauty blender sponge. Flawless foundation!
11. What are the products you are excited to try in 2013?
I’m excited to try a ton of stuff this coming year. I want to try things from brands like RMS beauty, Alima Pure, Kahina Giving Beauty and tons more. So you guys can definitely expect a variety of products featured on this blog coming soon.
12. Will you do a Makeup Collection in 2013, or an updated version?
I think this year I will actually be able to do one of these since I’m accumulating more stuff so yeah, I think I’ll be doing one this year.

Wow,seriously burt’s bees lip balm?I bought their lip shimmer and I didn’t like it :/ When I bought it I didn’t notice about carmine yet,but apart from that the texture was sticky and melted on hot weather here.The color was too shimmery also.My No-no at all.
But hi5 for real techniques brushes,my fave ones!The best brush among my brush collection:)
Hey Lynn, I’ve never tried their lip shimmers but I really like their chap sticks. They’re like one of the only natural chapsticks that actually moisturises my lips, that I’ve tried so far because the EOS lip balm was a total fail for me. I really like the Real techniques brushes too!

Ah! I still have to do this tag. Only good thing going for me is that although makeup is yet to be my specialty, I bought more make-up products last year to actually be able to name a few in my post.
But before anything else, I need to get Zuzu Luxe gel liner. Priorities.
