NOTD: RGB’s 5-Free Nail Polish in Pansy

I think I have been dying to try out RGB’s five-free polish since I began following them on Instagram and got a taste of how unique their nail polish colors are. I have also been very intrigued by their nail polish remover pads that I’m thinking about getting soon along with their top and base coat that will probably make this polish a lot more long-wearing than it already is.

Today’s nail of the day is their super cute nail polish in Pansy which is described as a “coy; confectionery pink”, which I would describe as a really nice pale pink shade that I really can wear pretty much everyday. It’s definitely a color that I don’t see myself getting sick of anytime soon and I have been loving it so much that I’m thinking of taking it to the salon with me soon just because I want to wear it some more.

RGB’s nail polish in Pansy applies somewhat like a streaky mess on the first coat but with a second or third coat it gets entirely opaque and smooth. I found that this nail polish is a lot thicker than usual so I really have to work with this formula, applying thin coats to work it up to opacity so that it won’t be to thick and globby-like. I’ve purchased two other shades in Gilt and Tropic and they don’t seem to be as thick as this one so I’m not sure if it is just this particular bottle or what.

I was able to get about 5-6 days of wear out of this nail polish without a top or base coat which I would imagine would make this polish a lot more long-wearing than it is on its own. I also experienced minor tip wear around the 3 day mark that was not that noticeable unless you are really close up. This nail polish also is pretty easy to remove with regular nail polish remover although I’d love to try it out with RGB’s nail polish remover pads soon.

So what do you think yay or nay? I definitely love this color but this polish seems like it may need a bit of nail polish thinner or just plain ol’ patience when applying. Have any of you tried any of RGB’s nail polishes? Definitely let me hear it in the comment section!

Where you can get it!

Pansy looks great on you, Audreiana! It seems like a very good Spring shade to have. Maybe we can make Spring happen through bright nail polish shades :)

  2. Gorgeous color on you. This week Sinful Colors nail polishes are on sale for 99 cents at Walgreens. They are 3-free and have been working better for me than high-end nail polishes. I’m going to pick up a few today as a little treat. :)
