I’ve recently begun filing my nails into submissive-ness because although I really admire the stiletto nails trend (think Rihanna’s really pointy catwoman-like nails) I wouldn’t dare get acrylics done ever again. Not only do they make your own nails paper thin they’re not all that good for you so I’ve opted to file my natural nails into the shape that I desire. It’s been coming out pretty nice making my quite chubby and short fingers appear a lot longer and more feminine so I’ve been happy to paint my nails a lot more lately. And plus I was sent a nail polish to try that was just my cup of tea, a unique color that you just don’t see everyday so I was all ears. So check out my experience with this stand out shade called LOCH NESS MYSTERY below.
Scotch Naturals Loch Ness Mystery is described as a “sophisticated turquoise creme “. I would describe it as a beautiful and unique shade that is very wearable meaning it isn’t too much in your face like POW!, thus the word “sophisticated”. It is definitely a very gorgeous turquoise color that has some green to it in natural lighting. This nail polish gets almost entirely opaque with just one coat so you can definitely get away with wearing just one coat if you’d like. This polish gives awesome color coverage but I used 2 coats to achieve the look below because I typically apply anywhere from 2-3 coats of polish whenever I do my own nails anyways.
I didn’t experience any noticeable streaking even with the first coat of this polish and this is most likely because when I applied just one coat I was able to get nice opaque color coverage. The consistency of this polish while thinner than most makes for very smooth and slick application. It also drys very quickly, like the other Scotch Naturals polish that I’ve reviewed, in between coats which I really like.
The first coat dries entirely matte and the second coat dried semi matte and the use of Scotch Naturals top coat gives a very nice and glossy coat to finish things off. These polishes certainly don’t last as long as a lot of us are used to but the brand suggests that overtime as your nails get healthier you will experience longer wear time. I typically get 5-6 days of wear on my fingernails with these polishes while exhibiting minor tip wear within 2-3 days.
This is such a fun color and I definitely enjoy wearing it, which has been a lot lately. I’ve found that Scotch Naturals nail polishes apply very easily and are also easily removable with their polish remover (review coming soon) so it does not take me very long to re-do my nails since the polish also dries insanely quickly too. So I haven’t had much of an issue with just re-doing my nails since I’m in love with the consistency, their polish colors, and their ingredients of course!
Have any of you tried this color or any of Scotch Naturals bright, bold, and fun colors before? Let me know in the comment section below!
